Who is Daniel J Pesut PhD RN FAAN?

Daniel J Pesut is a registered professional nurse, with a master’s degree in psychiatric mental health nursing and a PhD in Clinical Nursing Research. Dr. Pesut earned Certificates in Management Development from Harvard Institute for Higher Education; Core Mediation Skills Training from the International Association of Dispute Resolution (IARD); and Integral Studies from Fielding Graduate University. He has over 39 years’ of leadership experience in academic and public sector settings.  He has successfully navigated a number of roles in health care including experience as staff nurse in the US Army Nurse Corp, nurse educator, researcher, director of nursing for a 120 bed psychiatric mental health research and training hospital, consultant, coach.  He has experience as a faculty member, Department Chairperson, Associate Dean for Administration, Associate Dean for Graduate Programs and Director of PhD studies and Senior Faculty Fellow. He has served on the Board of Trustees of the Plexus Institute and the American Academy on Communication in Health Care.  He is a graduate of the Hudson Institute of Santa Barbara Coach Certification Training Program.  He is authorized to use the Harthill Leadership Development Framework (LDF) in coaching and consulting contexts. He is an advocate of a strengths and values approach to management and leadership development. Dr. Pesut is Past President (2003-2005) of the Honor Society of Nursing, Sigma Theta Tau International. Dr. Pesut is a member of the International Coaching Federation (ICF). He is certified to use the Hogan Lead Assessment; Assess Systems Leadership and Professional Development products; as well as the Taylor Core Values Index (CVI). Wisdom catalyzed by compassion is core to his coaching and consulting practice. Dr. Pesut is a popular author, speaker, coach and consultant, and is known for his ability to inspire and support people as they develop creative ideas, innovation practices, and leadership skills with a desired future in mind.
